You lost me with the idiotic term food porn. If you're going to present yourself as a subject matter expert then please try to at least develop a respectable and appropriate vocabulary. You could also say the food is aesthetically pleasing, for example. Thank you.

Hi John, great videos. I'm trying to learn about the logistics of bringing frozen chickens to the markets and sitting there for 5-6 hours. Do you just bring large coolers? If your goal is 20 chickens, that means bringing 25, right? Just hoping to get close parking? Have you run into any regulation in your area in regards to bringing in the frozen chickens or precessing the chickens at all - as long as its done by the processing plant, no issues? Also, would you be willing to do a video specifically on your operations manual and show how it actually looks in print, many of your videos are great on the white board, but you mention you put it to print, what does that look like? I can rattle off how we do things, but to put it to paper is challenging. Thanks!

Hi there. Seen a couple of your videos. Nice presentation. Great choice of words. Very informative. Just a question what was your business/ job before you got into growing? You definitely are from a corporate background. I can just recall some of my meetings & office presentations when you talk. I think that's really great.

I was selling at weekend markets in 1980,,, If you have a great product you are 75% the way, then you have to offer samples and chat, job done

It's always get to great information like this. I currently sell to the restaurants and they buy my microgreens because they bring a lot of color and taste to the table.
Your 100% right presentation plays a huge role,,,
My only advice I could add to it is,,,stand out with a point of difference compared to your competitors.
Am definitely going to use the recipe ideas,,,when I hit the local markets.
Happy Gardening/Farming

Love the new look took me a while to realize it was you but recognized the voice. Farming is the future don't give up. Thomas Jefferson advocated, to get into the least foreign entanglements possible. Industrialization had its place. But subservient to a farm. And every man should own land. So that his labor remained on his land 1799.

Excellent vedio! Thank you for your great suggestions

I have found that my local markets are extremely expensive to become a vendor...its like being shaken down before I even sell a single item? All the advertisements, signage, banners, tents, fees, and time becomes impossible to recoup for a small producer. Frankly, most farmers markets are for high volume sellers.

Great talk - starting a JS marathon today... :) Very interested in getting heavily involved in a few things you're heavily involved in.

You have a lot of good advice here. The signage is also a good investment. It really is a deterent when nothing is marked even if it's layed out in order.

I haven't read down to far however I haven't found anything about food handling licenses? do you have to get any of that or does it depend on where you are selling?

Great video! Thank you for sharing your expert advise! I'll be using your tips as I open my own booth at our local market this spring!

Thanks friend. We all know WHAT we like, but don't know WHY we like it. Your video was an excellent mirror exercise, useful in many other areas of life. My first year "marketing" was a super success and quite gratifying. I started by advertising on Yard Sale websites to "Be On The Lookout....what was coming in a month!" I plan on adding very simple (and simply packaged) home made soap and hand sewn market bags to my heirloom, non gmo, organic tomatoes, okra, peppers, etc. Last year was additionally successful in that I was able to expose myself as a seasoned gardener and trusted source for info on how to care for the plants I was selling. The Amish sell in our community and are a super resource. Utilize what's around you,and don't be a snob! You can always learn more!

If your just selling eggs, how do you make your stand appealing? Any suggestions would really be appreciated.

It is sad that you are correct my friend. Don't fight the man, embrace him. I'd wear ripped up jean shorts, boots and a flannel T shirt every day if I could. I make allot more money not.
