I appreciate your videos... Yet, I must warn folks that emerald green arbs are NOT fast growers. Perhaps assessments of em grn arb growth rates is relative. But, I can tell you from my experience, and from research, that em green arbs only grow 4 to 9 inches per year. During the first year, the arb spends most of its energy growing roots, so you will not see lots of growth the first year. Also, if you want fuller arbs, you need to trim off the top shoots to encourage the plant to become fuller.
I am planning to have 7-ft em grn arbs planted this coming spring to avoid the frustration of a ten year wait for a nice privacy hedge!
ALSO, please protect your new arbs from winter sun and water up until the ground freezes. They need to go into winter with enough moisture to ward off winter or early spring burn.
