Thank you, that was very helpful. I also leave my lavender for the bees, but I do use the flowers once there is no more colour or bee action. I appreciate learning the proper way to prune so I can have healthy plants that will grow. I have 2 plants in my rock garden near my patio, and I can smell them whenever it's a bit windy.

I just bought French lavender, 3 plants in one pot.. and now I want to put them in the ground, so shall I separate them or I should plant them together as they are in the pot?

mom mom divided her lavender and gave me a piece, its august hot and muggy and hard to grow things. Should I prune it or would that kill the plant?

Hi my lavender is all a mess. Not all of the plant has blooms mostly just the new shoots... So i got this right always cut 2 inches above soft? Isn't lavender meant to get taller? just wider?? How how to water lavender please mine are 1 year old plants now and i water them ever week. Is it right? please help :(
