Love your videos. Best and most informative I have ever seen. God Bless from TN.

Don, I had an existing clover plot that the grasses had almost taken over. I sprayed the field with arrest two weeks ago and now the dead grass is laying on top of the clover. Do I just go ahead and mow the field then put some fertilizer down? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Trying to make up for some lost time with this food plot.

Glad I found your videos Don. Not too many folks are geared towards giving back and conservation of our great wilderness. And, the no BS presentation without pushing products is a breath of fresh air. I think I may even share a video or two or yours on Minnesota Outdoor Journal. "A lot of people carry their brain in their hand." Love it! Woodsmanship is becoming a thing of the past and attempting to be replaced with gadgets. Carry on with your great work, I look forward to more.

Looks like there would be tons of poison ivy in there.id be covered.

Thanks Mr Don. It must take you twice as long to both film and work. You are very generous. The old time farmers (and the wise new farmers) used to leave a corner or an end row or two unharvested for the wildlife. Hence, the first food plots were born. So in that respect, food plots have been around for a long time. You are very logical and no nonsense in your thinking. Quite refreshing!

Great video like your others. So educational. Thank you!

Thanks Don, Its nice to see another person not as concerned about scent control. 49 years ago I was fortunate enough to take my first deer at the age of 6. Back then we hunted in flannel shirts and bib overalls. Not much has changed for me today. I still use a 12 foot wooden step ladder, with a plywood seat and a back on it I still wear my bib overalls and a dark shirt. I wash my clothes in the old Arm and Hammer baking soda and I play the wind. The funniest thing is I now use a 4 wheeler to get myself in and out of the woods and it beats carrying or dragging a dear. I park my 4 wheeler at my ladder. You know the deer still keep getting within my 20 yard bow range. My sons and Grandsons to this day still laugh at the beginning of season but always ask a lot of questions in the middle and end of the season. I use the way I was taught, it has always worked. Dad was right.

Ya know Don, I'm 17 and I'm lucky to have enough brains not to buy into the crap they push on the outdoor channel, if people would take the time to sit down with an "ol timer" and listen they'll have a better chance at a deer than buyin stuff because the "hunters" on the outdoor channel(and it kills me to call them hunters cause they shoot fish in a barrel) because I've learned more from you than the last 6 years I've watched the outdoor channel

Love your videos Don, especially your zeal and work ethic. Your clover stand is exceptional and i'll be taking on your tips to hopefully establish one just as good here. I keep cattle though and seeing all that clover mowed but unused is really hurting. Have you considered throwing in a few steers and some old bundles of straw to prevent bloat? Or perhaps hay or silage?

Thanks for all the work and time you put into all your video's. They are not easy to do and a bigger pain in the ass more then anything so thank you. I was wondering if you have ever planted any of the tall tine tubers from W.I.? Thanks for your time Cory

Thanks for all your videos Don. You truly are my inspiration for food ploting and the channel I go to for advice. Im late putting in my plot because I didn't have a plow. Going to be planting 1/2 acre WTI perrenial and 1/2 acre annual. Its been a lot of work but its labor with love. Its not at all about getting the big one but being close with nature and working the land. See you in the woods

"...more toward technology than common sense" Very true, sir! Props to you. Thanks for a great channel.

Hey Don I don't have the bag anymore but I planted some trophy clover mix, do I have to trim that or just let it grow? Im not sure if its a parineal.
-
Don, plot looks great, lush and green. I just plowed up a piece to plant Whitetail Institute's Winter Greens. Have you had any experience with it?

I really had to laugh about your rubber suit commit .... LOL. When I was younger they use to say your scent only stayed on the ground for about a hour then was gone. Now they say for 2 days. Wonder how they come up with all that crap. Must have a blood hound follow them around. lol Your clover plot is really looking great. How many acres did you say it is? Mowing a deer path along the deer trail was one great ideal. You should have a fantastic place to put a deer stand this fall along that trail. Thanks for the video, and appreciate all you do. Take care.

No Bullshit ! I love it. I have a question about the height of cutting the clover. I'm thinking of doing a clover plot next year. I only have a homeowner lawn tractor to cut the clover.I'm guessing the highest the mower will cut is about 8" .Is that high enough ? It's hard to tell on your video.Mark
