I want a garden full of weed.. But how?? I am a total beginner!

In the past I loved watching your videos when they were not so long, then for a long time I stopped watching your videos. I don't have the time for 50 minutes long video.now when I see your 7 minutes or 14 minutes videos, I am happy because I can afford the time. For some reason I always watch every Praxxus55712 Ray's videos even those half hour long, one videos a week, I find myself always looking forward Ray's new video every weekend, I always learn some thing from his garden tips..thoughts.

I like both short and long videos. Keep doing what you're doing. Love you John, Hugs!

I do like the shorter videos, but I watch the longer one too. Your just an interesting dude to watch when it comes to the topic of gardening...

I like the short formats!

Every time you pull one up you will make 2 or more. You need to make the soil hot with black plastic to kill them.

That's yellow nut sage. The worst of all weeds!
-
I think that weed is a nut sedge.
-
Check "back to Eden garden method", he puts lots of woodchips or mulch, that will block the weeds.

I gave you a thumbs up. But, I like the long videos myself. Now that I am getting older I don't have the short attention span problem I had in my youth. Back then it was hard hitting southern rock. And I was single having to do it all myself. Now I am married with a wife that takes care of most things. So, I am much more relaxed and patient about things because I get to spend a lot more time in my garden. And switched to country. ALSO, if you can take the time out of your busy day to record these videos for us. Then we can make the time for you to watch them. Those are your loyal listeners John. That won't ever ask, What Have You Done For Us Lately.

Do you ever do educational presentations for beginning gardeners? We are having a community event at my church and wondered if you or someone you know would be willing to present.

I think the length should depend on the subject matter. I sure am glad you didn't spend an hour talking about weeds. Then again, I wouldn't want to see you rush through a review of a garden show in 20 minutes. You're doing a great job and providing a wonderful service. How about a 10 minute video about the closing of Sonoma Compost? I am seriously bummed about that! I drive more than an hour each way to get my compost there.

John, make these videos however you want. You have sooo many subscribers because we like what you're doing. Don't change because of a some complaints. It's working, don't mess with success. If it wasn't working you wouldn't have as many subs as you do.
Weeds: Plants growing where we don't want them.
I'm surprised you didn't say "Smother the weeds out with plants you want."
Planting plants close together and well mulched will help keep weeds at bay. I like to deep mulch because it is so beneficial to what I plant. As the mulch is broken down and composted it feeds the plants, helps retain moisture and pulling weeds out of deep mulch is effortless. They just don't have much to hold onto and pull out easily.
Pouring boiling hot water on weeds does a good job at killing them. For some weeds spraying them with vinegar will burn them, but it has to be repeated to wipe them out. And, no it will not affect the pH of the soil. You just spray it on the weeds, you're not soaking the soil with the vinegar. -
I've got bindweed so BAD! It looks like the Garden of Weeding! The only thing I've been able to do is lay a clear window or plastic over it and let the sun cook it for a week or two. If you roto-till it, it just multiplies and spreads. Maybe that will work for other weeds also(?). Bad thing is, it takes up space but does kill it for a long time. Good luck, y'all. PS: John, I like all your videos but the shorter ones might get you more hits. Best wishes.

The short is fine, informative, BUT, I really like the long videos. John, I am happy with what ever you put online.
