Thanks from the UK. It looks like my last frost date is about 7 days before yours so not long now :)

Hard to take the word of someone with a home audio studio. Stand outside and record or something.

just saw this vid for the first time and realized I'm behind a week or two on most of my crops... need to get my butt in gear for a longer growing season... thanks.
-
Nice sound studio. Is that your guitar we're hearing on all the videos?
-
awesome! another outstanding vid!

Thanks for the tip. I've been so busy lately and trying to fully recover from laryngitis, so I can record a few videos. Stay warm... :)

Hi Patrick, question for you. Do I need to invest in a lighting system in order to start seeds? I know that if I start seeds in my window at home they usually become rather spindly and their roots don't grow fully. I was planning on maybe just direct seeding everything but I'd prefer not to! Do you have any ideas on what I should do?

hi Patrick, i was wondering if you had any other simple garden recipes that you could share or suggest. I saw your video on the congolese collard greens and have enjoyed it very much. also, the earthworms that you often show in your garden are 'alabama jumpers' correct? I was wondering how many of them survive the harsh winters. Do you notice a lot of them as soon as the weather starts to warm, or do only the eggs survive the winter? I have done some research on this particular worm (larry hall has some videos on youtube of them) and they seem to be a good garden worm. Thank you for the great information that you share it is truly a blessing.

Nice tip Patrick! It doesn't look like spring is ever going to get over here, -23 this morning!!!
-
Very helpful tips! I've started some of my seeds already.

Thanks for showing the Johnny's seed sowing calculator. I have used them several times before but never noticed they had a nice calculator ! Hang in there and stay warm ... I know this actually more snow than usual for you all. It just means that Spring will be even more sweeter :-)

Patrick will a hoop house allow for earlier transplanting of tomatoes and other vegetables outside?
-
Great tips, Patrick! Yeah, man I love Johnny's seeds! I just got my order yesterday after only 2 days of ordering! Great service, and tools! Gonna be trying some unheard of tomatoes, at least for me anyway, in that deserted back Dutch bucket row!

Very useful vid and chart. Thanks, Patrick.

Thanks for the great tip Patrick. I went straight to the site you showed here with the map and my last frost date for Reading is the second week of May. Usually it`s a little earlier than that but I guess that they can only give you a guide and estimate. Your two minute tip videos are a great idea. How is the snow where you are? Still hanging around?

This is such an important tip that is confusing for beginners. Thanks.

Interesting video. I used the davesgarden website on my zip code 33936 and it confirmed that I don't have a frost date here; However I still choose to start my seeds indoors simply because I feel that I can achieve a greater germination success rate. Perhaps I should just keep trying to direct sow seeds in my Florida garden and keep focusing on better direct sowing techniques ? Thanks again for the video.

Hey, did Patrick make an out of focus video or are my resolution settings off? :)
Good reminder to get seeds started on-time. I really should set up a proper grow room and not just do squash seeds in the window. -
Good tips!
That brings up something interesting that I've never really thought about. That you can be in a colder USDA zone, but sometimes still have an earlier last frost date. Makes sense that there would be such situations now that I think about it. You're one zone colder than me, but over a week sooner last frost date. I'm not sure which I would prefer though.
