Really enjoy your vids. Love the idea of one yard revolution sort of like the idea of "dig to victory" i.e. the victory garden plots. Can you provide some instruction or hints on germinating chicory raddichio from seed. i.e. germination times.how deep. Do the seeds need to be stratified or scarified.? Thankls

Picking the brewery grains up tomorrow all being well Patrick. Yesterday I swept up another large sack of leaves and more coffee from Starbucks. Have started to mix leaves with coffee grounds and am looking forward to experiments with grains. I haven't forgotten about the juice bar in the mall and need to get down there soon!

I've been watching a lot of your videos. they're informative and to the point. I'm germinating some spinach, kale and cucumber seeds now. i also plan to make a cold frame to prevent frost. I'm also going to try growing micro greens in the winter in case all fails. I would like to hear your oppinion on micro greens. is it all hype? from what i've researched they are compacted with vitamins and can be grown in a window sill. thanks for your videos

I did not plant too much for fall. It is time to get to work at my fly fishing bum job. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Patrick. Love the channel. I really appreciate your passion for the principles you hold - organic, local, frugal - combined with your commitment to the details and showing tests and results to investigate your own methods. All the best for the future.

Did my sowing also a week ago, nice link thanks Patrick!

I live in zone 10 South Florida Gulf coast, So I am starting to plan my "cool season" garden. Kales, lettuces, Radish, Pole and Bush Beans etc. I love being able to grow all year long with no frost date.

Do you have dedicated beds for your self sown vegetables?

Hey Patrick, its me Patrick. Hopefully you remember me. You may have watched many of my pittman's pumpkin patch garden videos on the channel "ppitt5150." I know we have sent messages back and forth along with the Alberta Urban Gardner. I am unable to upload video to that channel anymore. I was wondering if you would please subscribe to my new channel

If you didn't build your hoop house yet check out this vid, you can scale down the size pipe but what you will notice about electrical PVC is it has a bell shape on one end to connect it to the next piece and it UV protected and it looks good grey. http://youtu.be/MZ-g1SI13M8. 😎

Good tips, Patrick! We are going to compost heavily, and let our beds rest this winter, and just grow in the greenhouse!

I spent the last day or so powering through most of your videos. Thanks for all the info! I put in 4x16' raised beds in this spring and filled them with 'black earth topsoil' and mushroom compost which may not have been the best approach. I have a bin full of almost-ready compost as well as a bag of pro-mix (peat/vermiculite). Since the garden is fairly full of veggies right now (potatoes, onions, kale, spinach, etc) what's the best way to quickly amend it? I'm hoping to grow more into the fall/winter so it won't be completely empty. Should I add compost whenever I dig a hole to plant, and/or should I cover the garden with compost and shredded leaves after I finish growing kale/spinach (I may cover with cold frame/row covers). Or I could remove some of the topsoil by digging out some of the empty spaces and add the pro-mix and compost but I don't know if I should disturb it. Thanks!

Our first frost is usually early March. I didn't do enough summer planting to take advantage of autumn last year. I'm always amazed by how densely planted your garden is. I seem to get stunted growth if I go any closer than the packet recommendations - obviously don't have the nutrient surpluses you do. I started a blog on my garden (actgarden.blogspot.com), it's almost my garden's 1 year birthday! I started it in late September 2014. Just gearing up for spring now, amending my soil/building new beds, growing my seedlings and counting down the days! Happy autumn gardening to you!

Great stuff and thanks for the reminder.

I let radicchio go to seed(had a volunteer from last year). Nice flowers. I am wondering how much to expect coming up in the spring. I gotta get radishes in right away. This will be my first attempt at fall harvest for them. Thanks for the reminder Patrick.
