I love the milk bottle as a watering can. Its light weight and I will be using that idea. Many thanks from UK

This looks great! I usually run into the problem of sufficient sunlight though. Have you considered a grow light? It would add the photosynthetic support and allow the option of new and interesting plants. I've messed with grow lights for a while now but prefer the Aspect (www.soltechsolutionsllc.com/aspect).

Keep grubs away (especially from Hostas) by saving tuna cans, and sacrificing enough beer (yes, beer) to cover the bottom 1/4 inch. Place the cans under your plants (you don't have to look at them - promise!), and grubs (and some other pests) will climb over the side of the cans to get the beer.. And drown (insert maniacal laugh... HERE! ;) :P ).

and what you do with the cow poo water you fill your watering can with it and water your plants and before you do that make sure that the cow poo is mixed with the water

heres a tip if you have a cattle farm or someone near you ask if you can collect a bucket load of cow manure and put it in a drum with lots of water and make sure the cow poo is fresh and if you put the cow manure in straight it will burn the plants cause it is too acidic

Great vid. How does the shoe rack drain the water for each plant?
-
Great ideas but I'm concerned for anyone who eats the herbs grown in a plastic or vinyl hanging shoe rack. The chemicals have got to be leaching into the soil when heated up by the sun and temps and therefore, directly into the food you're ultimately consuming. There must be a safer, healthier way. Great tips regardless. Thanks for the vid!
